Kappa Zetes Receive Internships from SELF Program
This Summer, Zeta Psi launches their 4th internship program – the Science & Engineering Leadership Fellows (SELF). SELF is modeled after Zeta Psi’s other intern programs that have been a big benefit to our undergraduates – The Washington Scholars (WSFP, public service & related fields in DC), Wall Street Scholars (WSS, Finance & New Media in NYC), and the direct pipeline to the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network’s top-10 Internship program (NMFN, nationwide).
SELF has set up 4 internships this summer, and the two prestige positions have been offered to Kappa Zetes – Outgoing Chapter President Mike Taylor and TJ Warren. Mike & TJ will be able to intern for a Danbury, CT based BioTech where they will work directly in the lab, running their own experiments on cutting edge technologies, and receive a publication credit in a major scientific journal. For an undergrad to get published is astonishing and a huge career boost – and one that we as Kappa Zete alumni are able to offer our undergrads!
Mike & TJ have a truly unique opportunity here, and it’s up to all of us to make it possible! Their internship starts June 2nd and we’re still trying to find Scholarship funding to house & feed (on ramen and kool-aid!) our two brothers. SELF has raised close to $1000 in tax-deductible donations from just a few Kappa Zetes, and we need another $5000 to insure Mike & TJ can enjoy this once in a lifetime, career developing opportunity – something no other fraternity can offer! Please make a tax-deductible donation today via the Future Leaders for America Foundation by CLICKING HERE and help insure Mike & TJ have this great opportunity.
Brother's Room Renovated
In recent years the Kappa Chapter House has been in less than sightly condition. But through the efforts of active brothers and a tremendous fundraising campaign among the elders, efforts to restore the house to its full glory are underway. The first course of action was the renovation of the brother's room. In past years the brother's room had been mostly abandoned. Alpha Phi, Pat Tonelli '10, saw the potential that the brother's room had to bring brothers living both in and out of the house together. Spearheading the renovation, Tonelli, with the support of the brothers and the spring pledge class have made the brother's room once again into a fine gathering place for the members of Zeta Psi.
